SAMBA is excited to announce that we have reached an agreement with another landowner in Harrisburg and we will be expanding the Parkway Trail System this year! As many of you know, our partners at CAGA have been working for many years on a project to re-align Spring Creek in the Paxtang Parkway and the next phase of that project will be starting in the coming months. As part of this phase, the dysfunctional sewer encasement that serves as a bridge at the end of PAX3 will be removed. Eventually a new bridge will be installed but the timeline is unclear at this point. As a result, SAMBA will be expanding PAX3 into a full loop, utilizing a section of current trail PAX1 and adding two new sections. PAX1 will be adjusted and expanded into the newly accessible parcel to include a new climb and flowy downhill section. We are expecting to add approximately ¾ mile of new trail in total.
