The Susquehanna Area Mountain Bike Association (SAMBA) and the Capital Area Greenbelt Association (CAGA) are launching a community effort to re-naturalize a segment of the Greenbelt corridor adjacent to 13th St. and Cloverly Terrace and along the hillside of the Cameron Parkway in Harrisburg and we need your help!

The site has accumulated trash and debris of all types as a result of decades of illegal dumping, littering and trash blowing over the hillside. A significant amount of trash has made its way down to the corridor of the Greenbelt, Parkway Trails CAM2 and into Spring Creek.

Our goal is to remove all debris over the course of several clean up events, raise funds to purchase and install trash barrier fencing to eliminate dumping and then work to help re-vegetate the area and manage invasive species.

Project partners include COVANTA, LCSWMA, Dauphin County Solid Waste Management and the City of Harrisburg. This project made possible in partnership with our friends at the Capital Area Greenbelt Association. We are seeking robust volunteers that can negotiate the unique terrain during the clean-up days and then help us restore this green space and precious trail/creek corridor.

Our first work day is scheduled for Saturday March 25. Please visit our social media or website Calendar tab for full info or click the thumbnail above for the basics. Also, we are now accepting donations to help with the expense of the fencing materials and installation. If you are able to donate, please visit the Donate tab on our website. Thanks!
