The Borough of Marietta and the Susquehanna Area Mountain Bike Association (SAMBA) are thrilled to announce the grand opening of the Marietta Woods Trail Project, a community-focused initiative designed to expand outdoor recreation and cycling opportunities in Marietta, Pennsylvania. The project will transform underutilized areas of Furnace Hill Park into a shared-use trail system that complements the Northwest Lancaster River Trail and highlights the natural beauty of the Susquehanna River corridor.
The system includes two progressive trail loops suitable for riders of all ages and skill levels, creating a welcoming environment for beginners, families, and experienced cyclists alike. A central feature of the project will be a Bicycle Playground at Front Street Park near the Tot Lot playground. This dedicated skills area will include obstacles such as rollers, bridges, berms, and pump-track features designed to safely build cycling confidence, coordination, and outdoor engagement for children and adults.
