Huge Thank You to Markus Houser (L),Ed Griffith (Center) and Sarah Fishburne (R) for all the time, energy and sweat contributed this year to help us improve, maintain and keep the trails clear for everyone to enjoy! These folks have each sacrificed many Saturday mornings volunteering with SAMBA in 2024! SAMBA is nothing without our volunteers and these folks were key to helping clear storm damage, trim vegetation and building new trails in 2024.
Markus was a main contributor at the Parkway trails over the past couple years often leading groups of volunteers on work days which he rarely missed. Markus also contributes as a SAMBA ride leader and spends lots of time volunteering with YAMBA down in York. For these reasons he is our top volunteer for 2024! Much appreciated Markus!
Ed continues to be one of our strongest and dedicated volunteers we have ever seen. He is always ready to take on any task with a smile on his face, great sense of humor and positive attitude. Ed shows up ready to kick butt and always enjoyable to work next to on even the most difficult work days in the middle of Summer. Much appreciated Ed!
Sarah was a new volunteer last year and attended every work day that she was available. She consistently worked harder than most other volunteers, setting the bar very high with her outstanding work ethic, willingness to learn and get things done. Much appreciated Sarah!
SAMBA is a 100% volunteer organization and we are fortunate to have such robust volunteers. We are humbled by their generosity, work ethic and passion for trails and mountain biking. SAMBA’s volunteers of the year receive free registration for all SAMBA events in 2025, dinner with the SAMBA Board of Directors, gift cards to their favorite bike shops and swag package from our generous sponsors for all their hard work.
